Computational Linguist

About this job

We are currently looking for a computational linguists to work on CV and Job ad parsing and search for all languages, but with a focus on French. CV parsing allows pre-filling online applicantion forms on the basis of CV documents, and powers the next generation of semantic search for recruiters.

Our language engineers are involved in the whole process from data annotation, applying supervised machine learning techniques, adding domain specific rules and additional knowledge sources, fine tuning the accuracy and performance, and testing and maintaining quality of a complex natural language processing system.

Qualifications:

We expect excellent practical programming skills in scripting (Perl), XML and character encoding standards for text processing, and good knowledge object oriented languages (Java, C++), familiarity with developing under Linux and Windows, and a self-motivated, ambitious and creative personality. Interest in linguistic variation, natural language processing, machine learning, and information extraction.

– Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial software engineering environment. Focused on delivering quality and building enterprise level software.

– The ideal candidate will have strong time management, customer interaction, and project management skills.

Language requirements:

Native speaker of French, with experience in all aspects of Natural Language Processing. Familiarity with other romance languages (Spanish, Italian) is a strong plus.

Specific requirements:

The position is based in Amsterdam, but will also involve some onsite work with clients in France. After training, working from a home office in France or from our Paris office is possible.
